Outside wedding... metal arches?

Okay, so I've been thinking about having an arch at my wedding... We don't have a large budget so it will be kind of inexpensive. Here's what i had in mind:

Arch:

Garland: (the white daisies)

and white organza... Do you think this will look bad since the flowers are more of a plastic than real? Ideas or suggestions??

Also, our wedding is August 9, 2008.. Our colors are sage green and yellow with yellow white and purple daisies for our flowers.

Outside wedding... metal arches?
I think you should use silk flowers to decorate instead of plastic. And I agree with Amanda P, who suggested using tulle. Other than that, I think your ideas are fine . . . and your chosen colors sound very pretty.

You can get rose garlands here:

Reply:Just the arch will look kinda plain. You will need a little landscaping at both sides of the arch to "soften" the look. You may choose potted flowers at both sides of the arch.

You may want to source for another garland to compliment your theme. How about working on colorful daises? Where are you getting your wedding bouquet? You may want to buy from the same florist. Just a suggestion.

Congratulations!
Reply:I think it will look fine if you keep it simple. Keep the organza %26amp; flowers to a minimum since they are a synthetic element %26amp; will be in a natural element.

Maybe you could find some good-looking greenery to add to it too. The more natural it looks the better when putting something like this outside.
Reply:Have you tried a local craft store? They usually have the same stuff and it doesn't have to be shipped. Along with the flowers too!

Also, have you tried BigLots for an arch? I just came back from one down here in Miami and they had one - not with lights but metal for $12. Just a thought!

Congrats on the wedding!
Reply:I've seen those arches at Michael's for under 20.00...also Amazon.com had them for $12. Lights are cheap and easy. I like the first arch but I can't picture your color scheme. The flowers for the 2nd idea seem to fit better but no, don't think the organza would look as good with those. Check ShindigZ.com for the material...they're having a huge sale. There are also fabric flowers, rather than plastic, that you may be able to find cheap...just don't go for silk :) Party supply websites are really your best bet for bargains on things like led tealights, fabrics, centerpieces...how exciting!! Congratulations and have fun with the planning!
Reply:Definitely have the arch....but I think you could use unraveled grapevine wreaths to help disguise the flowers if you needed to....also you might think about using tulle instead of organza - it's cheaper for one and you'd get more for your money.

It all sounds and looks really pretty.

Good Luck!
Reply:I really like the arch, but my honst oppinion on the garland is that it looks a little cheap...you can go to a craft store like Michaels or Jo-anns and they have really nice garland and its cheap! good luck and congrats!!
Reply:The Garland looks way too cheap...I have to agree with the girls on this one, go to Michaels or Hobby Lobby...they have much better quality arches and flowers. And they're not expensive.

Hobby Lobby: www.hobbylobby.com
Reply:I think if you go to Michaels or a different craft shop they would have a better quality of flowers and they aren't too expense.
Reply:I must point out to you that if you do not use real flowers, your planned arch will completely lack warmth and genuineness in tone.
Reply:i agree with Ashley they have better flowers and they will also have the arch. that way their is not shipping. good luck.
