In white robes, wearing flower garlands. A typical conversation would begin with "You are like so totally beautiful. I really dig your energy."
What would you do if the world was overrun by new age hippies?
You and I would sell beers out of coolers at Dead revival shows. I'd sew a lot of Indian print skirts for myself and you'd give people tours in your VW bus.
Reply:I've had moments after which just talking to you would have made me feel so much better. I don't know when things will get back to normal. Miss you, too. Report It
Reply:haha things might actually be easier if it were like that! the area that I'm from is known for it's hippies we have lots of them and our crime rate stays really low and they are very friendly and happy all the time (cause of the smoke I bet) but anyways they really keep to themselves for the most part ~ unless you try to cut down a tree or something horrible like that! LOL
Reply:I would think things are going to get better and hoped I lived long enough to see it.
Reply:Join them and dance in the moonlight with pink flowers in my hair!
Reply:I would be like rt on man let's get down and grow us a crop. but those r pipe dreams baby. No politician in the world is gonna go for peace like that. Even though it would be so much easier and peace full for real

Do you know where I can find Indian wedding garland online?
I need to buy garland for my upcoming wedding. I've been looking and only found fancyflorist.com for garland. Does anyone have any other alternatives?
I would like to have fresh flowers only in the garland, no paper or fake.
Thank you!
Do you know where I can find Indian wedding garland online?
you can find them maybe in flower shops or you should see if they have any flower shops in artesia where the indian people live.
Reply:It's hard to really find much online. I saw one at vdiexports.com, but I ordered a dress from them, cost me a lot, and they gave me the completely wrong product (after about 2 months of badgering to hurry up and ship it).
Lots of people end up just going to a florist and giving them the specifications. From what I understand it usually costs $40-$80 (but of course it depends on the flower and length).
I will be probably having a florist do us a very simple one.

Reply:I wouldn't recommend you get it online. Also, don't try to get a florist who has never done it before make one for you -- my cousin did this and their garlands looked like they were about to fall apart.
Call your local Hindu temple (you might be able to find it in the phone book) and ask them for recommendations.
Reply:if you want just go to your local florist and explain what you want done and have them make it for you.....that way you can pick out all the flowers you want on it ...i had that done for my wedding..i was there when they made it so i got see what it looked like and made many suggestions like do this or do that you know add your personal touch...it will be very special and you will always remember it.......i would not recommend ordering it online because they will never turn out the way you expected and you don' t want to be disappointed on your wedding day.......good luck.....and congrats!!!!

What areas have congested traffic in the dallas area?
I want to move to a suberb near the Dallas area, like Frisco, Garland, Flower Mound, etc. Which areas have the worst traffic?
What areas have congested traffic in the dallas area?
honestly - all of them if you plan any kind of commute. I live in the mid-cites and the 26 mile commute to Garland took me well over an hour each way. Frisco has terrible traffic right now. Only way in and out just about is going to be by toll road as soon as they start charging on 121.
Live as close to where you will work or just get ready for alot of traffic. no way around it.
Reply:Best plan to avoid traffic is either live closer in OR near Dart light rail (if you will be working in downtown)
Reply:any place along 635 is bad.....try Allen or Plano

Do you know what flower this is?
I planted a variety of flowers in my yard about 2 months ago. In each corner, I planted wildflower seeds, containing 8 types of flowers. They are now starting to bloom here and there, so I decided to look some of them up to identify them, seeing as how this is my first garden. Problem is, I have flowers growing that I'm not sure I planted.
So my question is...Do you know? There are about 6 of them, the tallest one being approx 3 ft high. They branch out in many places, with long, fat, somewhat pointed leaves, and very small white flowers that are grouped. As they have grown, the stems have become increasingly red. I would really like to know what these are...so anyone who might have a clue, please let me know, I really appreciate it!
Thanks!
Note: My wildflowers consist of - Lupine, Annual Baby's Breath, Cornflower, Cosmos, Virginian Stock, Sweet William Catchfly, Mountain Garland and Shirley Poppy.
Do you know what flower this is?
Don't know them all-- but:
Baby's Breath is filmy leaved with white multipetal flowers. When you see it you'll recognize it as a "filler" in florist arrangements.
Cornflower appears to be a blue button-- stalk stands up.
Cosmos has thready leaves with a daisy type bloom ( center button and petals around) --usually maroon, pink, dark pink or white. They will grow pretty tall.
Stock is sturdy looking straight stem. The bloom is somewhat roseish and close to the stalk. Probably very fragrant. Doesn't like heat.
Sweet William ( at least what I know) is a bi-annual-- it looks somewhat like a tight round very small bush-- no blooms this year, but next. Fragrant. Very good in containers.
Shirley poppy has a few leaves at the soil, a thin stem without any leaves and a bud on the very end. They prefer being seeded in the fall-- but don't like soil to "cover" them at all-- I shake the seeds where I want them.
Another self seeder that I like is larkspur-- you might want to try that.
Here in zone 7-- the poppys are done -- self seeding. The Cosmos is still blooming but getting hot it also self seeds.-- the cornflower is done for the year and self seeds--The baby's breath is finished and I hope it is self seeding. Don't have any lupine or stock-- and don't recognize Mountain Garland.
Hope this is some help.
good luck

Need to find some purple/lilac and cream flower arragements/bouquets and garland for my wedding please HELP!?
Orchids come in both of those colors. Also look into roses as now you can find them in just about every color. Also peonies, tulips and many types of lilies(there are some nice purple callas). I chose all orchids for my bouquet and my colors are similar- lavender/white.
Also, here are some websites to get some ideas. There are tons more sites out there if you want to take the time to look. I know that I spent many days looking at sites and pics before I knew what I wanted. And as for garland, Ivy goes well with most everything. You could also use vine for garland and also mini lights. Good luck

Which Indian flowers are best to use for a flower garland (mala)?
Namaste ~
How do you fasten them together... and how do you keep them fresh?
Thank you!
Lakshmi
Which Indian flowers are best to use for a flower garland (mala)?
For the method of preparation, please follow Megha's advice. Good flowers for garlands are nerium odorum, marigold, jasmine, tube rose, champa etc. Nerium odorum is the most heavenly fragranced flower, commonly grown and available in peninsular India. In South India it is fairly common in venis and malas. You can use any flower you fancy, its just that highly fragranced flowers are usually preferred. Roses and hibiscuses tend to be inserted in the hair singly, but there is no reason why they could not be incorporated in a multi flower garland. Leaves can also be interspersed between the flowers. If you keep ready garlands in a thin plastic bag in the fridge they remain fresh for a couple of days.
Reply:Call the director of horticulture of the botanical gardens "Lalbag" in Bangalore
Reply:Marigold and it's leaves are used the most. Some petals of roses also looks pretty. Take a needle(with a big hole) and pass a thick thread through it. Then prick the flowers with that needle and tie a knot as tightly as you can. To keep them fresh for a long time, sprinkle them with water every now and then. Hope I helped. Good luck. :)-

sprinkle water over them to keep fresh.
Reply:rose and marigold are the best.you use a thread to tie them together and use water to keep them fresh.
Reply:marigold. just use needle and thread and pierce it through the middle of each flower. and make a garland of any size u wish. jasmine can also be used alternating with marigold. keep them fresh in a polythene bag kept is frig.

I totally agree!! We used FiftyFlowers for the flowers for my sister in law's wedding. We ordered an enormous amount of flowers of all kinds (calla lilies, orchids, roses, filler) and everything was gorgeous!
They flowers were beautiful, lasted a long time, came on time, no stress, were affordable and shipping was super fast!! In addition, they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Congratulations and best of luck!!

As with the previous posters, I have had good experience with Fifty Flowers. Another site is The Flower Exchange:

Don't forget Costco, Tom Thumb, and Central Market!
I have had friends purchase wedding flowers from these places, and they were beautiful and affordable. I know that Tom Thumb and Central Market will even arrange them for you, for much less than a traditional florist.

Where can i find a good website to order fresh flowres for making a garland and what flower would you recommen
